Germany stocks lower at close of trade; DAX down 0.27%

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX fell 0.27%, while the MDAX index declined 0.17%, and the TecDAX index declined 1.37%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Covestro AG (ETR:1COV), which rose 2.22% or 0.65 points to trade at 29.98 at the close. Meanwhile, Bayerische Motoren Werke AG (ETR:BMWG) added 2.05% or 1.50 points to end at 74.52 and Porsche Automobil Holding SE (ETR:PSHG_p) was up 2.04% or 1.32 points to 66.08 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p), which fell 3.15% or 14.00 points to trade at 429.90 at the close. Puma SE (ETR:PUMG) declined 1.91% or 1.22 points to end at 62.60 and HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG) was down 1.62% or 0.45 points to 27.36.

The top performers on the MDAX were Uniper SE (ETR:UN01) which rose 4.02% to 6.21, Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (ETR:TKAG) which was up 3.59% to settle at 5.60 and Aurubis AG (ETR:NAFG) which gained 3.30% to close at 66.28.

The worst performers were Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which was down 8.82% to 23.26 in late trade, Nemetschek AG O.N. (ETR:NEKG) which lost 2.80% to settle at 62.42 and Vantage Towers AG (ETR:VTWRn) which was down 2.37% to 27.24 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were TeamViewer AG (ETR:TMV) which rose 1.99% to 10.20, Verbio Vereinigte Bioenergie AG (ETR:VBKG) which was up 1.49% to settle at 64.75 and Siltronic AG (ETR:WAFGn) which gained 1.42% to close at 71.55.

The worst performers were Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which was down 8.82% to 23.26 in late trade, Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p) which lost 3.15% to settle at 429.90 and Nemetschek AG O.N. (ETR:NEKG) which was down 2.80% to 62.42 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 382 to 289 and 89 ended unchanged.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 2.54% to 28.82.

Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.76% or 13.35 to $1,761.75 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 3.72% or 3.36 to hit $93.72 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 3.49% or 3.37 to trade at $99.85 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.33% to 1.00, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.24% to 0.84.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.51% at 108.42.
