Germany stocks higher at close of trade; DAX up 7.92%

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX added 7.92%, while the MDAX index gained 6.65%, and the TecDAX index gained 6.34%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Adidas AG (DE:ADSGN), which rose 12.86% or 23.78 points to trade at 208.72 at the close. Meanwhile, Deutsche Post AG NA O.N. (DE:DPWGn) added 11.55% or 4.59 points to end at 44.37 and Puma SE (DE:PUMG) was up 11.40% or 7.53 points to 73.57 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Siemens Energy AG (DE:ENR1n), which fell 1.29% or 0.27 points to trade at 20.73 at the close. Symrise AG Inh. O.N. (DE:SY1G) added 2.27% or 2.20 points to end at 98.92 and Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (DE:SATG_p) was up 4.40% or 15.60 points to 370.20.

The top performers on the MDAX were Lanxess AG (DE:LXSG) which rose 13.24% to 41.42, Uniper SE (DE:UN01) which was up 11.91% to settle at 19.92 and AUTO1 Group SE (DE:AG1G) which gained 11.87% to close at 11.36.

The worst performers were Rheinmetall AG (DE:RHMG) which was down 4.74% to 143.85 in late trade, K&S AG (DE:SDFGn) which lost 0.63% to settle at 22.00 and Rational AG (DE:RAAG) which was up 0.54% to 628.40 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Siltronic AG (DE:WAFGn) which rose 12.43% to 96.80, Eckert & Ziegler AG O.N. (DE:EUZG) which was up 10.82% to settle at 55.80 and TeamViewer AG (DE:TMV) which gained 9.80% to close at 12.77.

The worst performers were Nordex SE O.N. (DE:NDXG) which was down 6.12% to 16.86 in late trade, SMA Solar Technology AG (DE:S92G) which lost 3.29% to settle at 39.36 and Varta AG (DE:VAR1) which was up 4.01% to 86.14 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 585 to 128 and 40 ended unchanged.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 7.40% to 40.28.

Gold Futures for April delivery was down 2.50% or 51.00 to $1,992.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 9.75% or 12.06 to hit $111.64 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 10.36% or 13.26 to trade at $114.72 a barrel.

EUR/USD was up 1.63% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP rose 1.03% to 0.84.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 1.14% at 97.96.
