Germany stocks higher at close of trade; DAX up 1.57%

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX gained 1.57%, while the MDAX index gained 1.57%, and the TecDAX index added 2.12%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Porsche Automobil Holding SE (DE:PSHG_p), which rose 8.53% or 6.690 points to trade at 85.090 at the close. Meanwhile, Volkswagen AG VZO O.N. (DE:VOWG_p) added 6.12% or 10.80 points to end at 187.26 and Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:IFXGn) was up 4.96% or 1.615 points to 34.155 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Beiersdorf AG O.N. (DE:BEIG), which fell 1.02% or 0.900 points to trade at 87.400 at the close. E.ON SE (DE:EONGn) declined 0.37% or 0.046 points to end at 12.234 and HelloFresh SE (DE:HFGG) was down 0.33% or 0.18 points to 54.16.

The top performers on the MDAX were Stroeer SE (DE:SAXG) which rose 5.50% to 69.100, K&S AG (DE:SDFGn) which was up 4.41% to settle at 19.900 and Hugo Boss AG NA O.N. (DE:BOSSn) which gained 3.35% to close at 57.940.

The worst performers were Alstria Office Reit-Ag (DE:AOXG) which was down 2.17% to 18.480 in late trade, TeamViewer AG (DE:TMV) which lost 0.59% to settle at 16.07 and Fuchs Petrolub AG VZO Pref (DE:FPE3_p) which was down 0.53% to 37.620 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Nordex SE O.N. (DE:NDXG) which rose 6.09% to 13.410, SMA Solar Technology AG (DE:S92G) which was up 5.33% to settle at 31.200 and Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:IFXGn) which gained 4.96% to close at 34.155.

The worst performers were Suse SA (DE:SUSEG) which was down 0.68% to 29.00 in late trade, TeamViewer AG (DE:TMV) which lost 0.59% to settle at 16.07 and SAP SE (DE:SAPG) which was up 0.02% to 109.760 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 554 to 125 and 91 ended unchanged.

Shares in K&S AG (DE:SDFGn) rose to 3-years highs; gaining 4.41% or 0.840 to 19.900.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 7.70% to 20.85.

Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.44% or 8.05 to $1835.95 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 0.25% or 0.22 to hit $89.14 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 0.33% or 0.30 to trade at $91.08 a barrel.

EUR/USD was up 0.17% to 1.1434, while EUR/GBP rose 0.24% to 0.8447.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.16% at 95.485.
