Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Frankfurt, the rose 1.41% to hit a new all time high, while the index gained 1.13%, and the index gained 1.76%.

The best performers of the session on the were Wirecard AG (DE:), which rose 4.46% or 6.000 points to trade at 140.600 at the close. Meanwhile, Fresenius Medical Care KGAA ST (DE:) added 2.92% or 2.040 points to end at 72.020 and RWE AG ST O.N. (DE:) was up 2.80% or 0.870 points to 31.920 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Continental AG O.N. (DE:), which fell 3.30% or 3.52 points to trade at 103.10 at the close. Daimler AG NA O.N. (DE:) declined 1.10% or 0.490 points to end at 43.940 and Bayerische Motoren Werke AG (DE:) was down 0.40% or 0.280 points to 69.410.

The top performers on the MDAX were Siltronic AG (DE:) which rose 5.21% to 94.540, CompuGroup Medical AG O.N. (DE:) which was up 2.85% to settle at 63.250 and Siemens Healthineers AG (DE:) which gained 2.49% to close at 45.09.

The worst performers were K+S AG NA O.N. (DE:) which was down 6.14% to 8.690 in late trade, Varta AG (DE:) which lost 3.07% to settle at 82.200 and Aurubis AG (DE:) which was down 2.55% to 52.000 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Siltronic AG (DE:) which rose 5.21% to 94.540, Wirecard AG (DE:) which was up 4.46% to settle at 140.600 and RIB Software AG Na (DE:) which gained 3.40% to close at 20.660.

The worst performers were Varta AG (DE:) which was down 3.07% to 82.200 in late trade, Morphosys AG O.N. (DE:) which lost 1.33% to settle at 118.800 and Telefonica Deutschland Holding AG (DE:) which was down 0.18% to 2.769 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 455 to 207 and 88 ended unchanged.

Shares in Continental AG O.N. (DE:) fell to 5-year lows; falling 3.30% or 3.52 to 103.10. Shares in RWE AG ST O.N. (DE:) rose to 5-year highs; up 2.80% or 0.870 to 31.920. Shares in K+S AG NA O.N. (DE:) fell to 5-year lows; losing 6.14% or 0.568 to 8.690. Shares in Siemens Healthineers AG (DE:) rose to all time highs; up 2.49% or 1.09 to 45.09.

The , which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 3.84% to 13.54.

Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.43% or 6.75 to $1572.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 2.46% or 1.37 to hit $54.22 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 2.35% or 1.46 to trade at $60.58 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 0.22% to 1.1027, while EUR/GBP rose 0.12% to 0.8431.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.19% at 97.665.
