Germany stocks higher at close of trade; DAX up 1.34%

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX gained 1.34%, while the MDAX index added 1.70%, and the TecDAX index added 1.22%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Porsche Automobil Holding SE (ETR:PSHG_p), which rose 6.14% or 3.92 points to trade at 67.74 at the close. Meanwhile, Volkswagen AG VZO O.N. (ETR:VOWG_p) added 5.91% or 7.50 points to end at 134.46 and Heidelbergcement AG O.N. (ETR:HEIG) was up 4.74% or 2.14 points to 47.33 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Vonovia SE (ETR:VNAn), which fell 1.90% or 0.55 points to trade at 28.46 at the close. Qiagen NV (ETR:QIA) declined 0.86% or 0.41 points to end at 47.43 and HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG) was down 0.76% or 0.26 points to 34.04.

The top performers on the MDAX were Commerzbank AG O.N. (ETR:CBKG) which rose 7.85% to 6.41, Lanxess AG (ETR:LXSG) which was up 5.78% to settle at 35.53 and Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (ETR:TKAG) which gained 5.01% to close at 5.45.

The worst performers were Tag Immobilien AG (ETR:TEGG) which was down 6.09% to 10.18 in late trade, LEG Immobilien AG (ETR:LEGn) which lost 1.29% to settle at 79.34 and Deutsche Wohnen AG (ETR:DWNG) which was down 0.63% to 22.08 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:AFXG) which rose 3.83% to 127.35, Verbio Vereinigte Bioenergie AG (ETR:VBKG) which was up 3.74% to settle at 51.85 and Nagarro SE (ETR:NA9n) which gained 2.83% to close at 116.20.

The worst performers were Suse SA (ETR:SUSEG) which was down 3.46% to 20.64 in late trade, Qiagen NV (ETR:QIA) which lost 0.86% to settle at 47.43 and Vantage Towers AG (ETR:VTWRn) which was down 0.07% to 27.60 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 490 to 183 and 95 ended unchanged.

Shares in Tag Immobilien AG (ETR:TEGG) fell to 5-year lows; down 6.09% or 0.66 to 10.18.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 2.52% to 28.98.

Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.09% or 1.60 to $1,741.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 1.99% or 2.04 to hit $104.77 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 2.29% or 2.40 to trade at $107.05 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.12% to 1.02, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.18% to 0.85.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.11% at 106.84.
