Germany stocks higher at close of trade; DAX up 1.20%

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX gained 1.20% to hit a new 6-months high, while the MDAX index climbed 1.12%, and the TecDAX index gained 0.70%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Siemens Energy AG (ETR:ENR1n), which rose 3.53% or 0.63 points to trade at 18.33 at the close. Meanwhile, Linde PLC (ETR:LINI) added 2.47% or 7.15 points to end at 296.35 and Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn) was up 2.40% or 0.71 points to 30.45 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Henkel & Co KGaA AG Pref (ETR:HNKG_p), which fell 2.34% or 1.56 points to trade at 65.24 at the close. Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p) declined 1.76% or 6.50 points to end at 362.90 and Siemens Healthineers AG (ETR:SHLG) was down 0.70% or 0.33 points to 47.08.

The top performers on the MDAX were K&S AG (ETR:SDFGn) which rose 4.37% to 19.93, Stroeer SE (ETR:SAXG) which was up 3.82% to settle at 48.42 and Rheinmetall AG (ETR:RHMG) which gained 3.61% to close at 209.40.

The worst performers were Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER) which was down 2.88% to 45.11 in late trade, RTL Group SA (ETR:RRTL) which lost 0.47% to settle at 42.48 and Fraport AG (ETR:FRAG) which was down 0.44% to 43.03 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which rose 4.50% to 13.47, Varta AG (ETR:VAR1) which was up 3.76% to settle at 26.46 and Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which gained 3.30% to close at 23.50.

The worst performers were Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p) which was down 1.76% to 362.90 in late trade, Siemens Healthineers AG (ETR:SHLG) which lost 0.70% to settle at 47.08 and Qiagen NV (ETR:QIA) which was down 0.68% to 46.90 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 494 to 179 and 83 ended unchanged.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 5.27% to 18.52 a new 6-months low.

Gold Futures for February delivery was up 1.50% or 27.65 to $1,868.25 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 0.88% or 0.65 to hit $74.32 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 0.52% or 0.41 to trade at $79.10 a barrel.

EUR/USD was up 1.09% to 1.06, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.30% to 0.88.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 1.03% at 103.75.
