Germany stocks higher at close of trade; DAX up 1.13%

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX gained 1.13%, while the MDAX index gained 0.89%, and the TecDAX index added 1.03%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Commerzbank AG O.N. (ETR:CBKG), which rose 4.55% or 0.49 points to trade at 11.15 at the close. Meanwhile, Continental AG O.N. (ETR:CONG) added 3.11% or 2.06 points to end at 68.26 and Siemens Healthineers AG (ETR:SHLG) was up 3.05% or 1.48 points to 50.08 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Zalando SE (ETR:ZALG), which fell 0.48% or 0.18 points to trade at 37.64 at the close. BASF SE NA O.N. (ETR:BASFN) declined 0.37% or 0.18 points to end at 47.89 and Bayer AG NA (ETR:BAYGN) was down 0.07% or 0.04 points to 58.58.

The top performers on the MDAX were Aroundtown Property Holdings PLC (ETR:AT1) which rose 4.81% to 2.48, Fuchs Petrolub AG VZO Pref (ETR:FPE3_p) which was up 3.67% to settle at 37.86 and Befesa SA (ETR:BFSA) which gained 3.36% to close at 49.86.

The worst performers were ADTRAN Holdingsa Inc (ETR:QH9) which was down 1.79% to 16.50 in late trade, Knorr-Bremse AG (ETR:KBX) which lost 1.47% to settle at 65.80 and Wacker Chemie O.N. (ETR:WCHG) which was down 1.30% to 151.70 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Nagarro SE (ETR:NA9n) which rose 3.31% to 99.90, Siemens Healthineers AG (ETR:SHLG) which was up 3.05% to settle at 50.08 and Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which gained 2.46% to close at 31.25.

The worst performers were ADTRAN Holdingsa Inc (ETR:QH9) which was down 1.79% to 16.50 in late trade, Suse SA (ETR:SUSEG) which lost 1.63% to settle at 18.76 and TeamViewer AG (ETR:TMV) which was down 1.01% to 15.18 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 493 to 190 and 78 ended unchanged.

Shares in Fuchs Petrolub AG VZO Pref (ETR:FPE3_p) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 3.67% or 1.34 to 37.86. Shares in Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) rose to all time highs; gaining 2.46% or 0.75 to 31.25.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 5.08% to 19.43.

Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.50% or 9.00 to $1,826.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 0.92% or 0.70 to hit $75.62 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 1.03% or 0.85 to trade at $81.97 a barrel.

EUR/USD was up 0.54% to 1.06, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.34% to 0.88.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.49% at 104.64.
