At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX gained 1.09% to hit a new 1-month high, while the MDAX index gained 1.70%, and the TecDAX index gained 1.17%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Zalando SE (ETR:ZALG), which rose 6.59% or 1.59 points to trade at 25.71 at the close. Meanwhile, Fresenius SE & Co KGAA O.N. (ETR:FREG) added 3.97% or 0.88 points to end at 23.03 and Siemens Energy AG (ETR:ENR1n) was up 3.73% or 0.42 points to 11.66 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Beiersdorf AG O.N. (ETR:BEIG), which fell 1.47% or 1.50 points to trade at 100.35 at the close. Henkel & Co KGaA AG Pref (ETR:HNKG_p) declined 1.14% or 0.72 points to end at 62.50 and Vonovia SE (ETR:VNAn) was down 1.03% or 0.23 points to 22.05.
The top performers on the MDAX were Aurubis AG (ETR:NAFG) which rose 6.22% to 65.96, K&S AG (ETR:SDFGn) which was up 5.74% to settle at 23.20 and Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (ETR:TKAG) which gained 4.91% to close at 5.55.
The worst performers were Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which was down 1.57% to 28.91 in late trade, Stroeer SE (ETR:SAXG) which lost 0.86% to settle at 43.64 and Freenet AG NA (ETR:FNTGn) which was down 0.31% to 19.34 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which rose 6.37% to 9.18, SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:S92G) which was up 5.06% to settle at 42.76 and Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which gained 3.18% to close at 19.47.
The worst performers were Morphosys AG O.N. (ETR:MORG) which was down 2.45% to 19.50 in late trade, Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which lost 1.57% to settle at 28.91 and Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn) which was down 0.49% to 26.15 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 476 to 178 and 98 ended unchanged.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 2.32% to 26.96 a new 1-month low.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.77% or 12.75 to $1,670.75 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 3.31% or 2.82 to hit $88.14 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 2.50% or 2.29 to trade at $94.03 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 1.12% to 1.01, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.07% to 0.87.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 1.10% at 109.61.
