Germany stocks higher at close of trade; DAX up 0.87%

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX gained 0.87%, while the MDAX index gained 0.88%, and the TecDAX index added 0.54%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG), which rose 4.52% or 1.08 points to trade at 24.96 at the close. Meanwhile, Volkswagen AG VZO O.N. (ETR:VOWG_p) added 3.71% or 5.32 points to end at 148.82 and Mercedes Benz Group AG (ETR:MBGn) was up 2.98% or 1.60 points to 55.24 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were RWE AG ST O.N. (ETR:RWEG), which fell 1.74% or 0.68 points to trade at 38.32 at the close. E.ON SE (ETR:EONGn) declined 0.63% or 0.06 points to end at 8.87 and Bayer AG NA (ETR:BAYGN) was down 0.58% or 0.30 points to 51.51.

The top performers on the MDAX were Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER) which rose 7.69% to 44.40, Commerzbank AG O.N. (ETR:CBKG) which was up 4.61% to settle at 7.04 and Deutsche Wohnen AG (ETR:DWNG) which gained 2.44% to close at 23.12.

The worst performers were Uniper SE (ETR:UN01) which was down 5.70% to 4.73 in late trade, Befesa SA (ETR:BFSA) which lost 2.96% to settle at 38.08 and Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which was down 2.24% to 22.69 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Verbio Vereinigte Bioenergie AG (ETR:VBKG) which rose 2.87% to 66.35, Bechtle AG (ETR:BC8G) which was up 2.30% to settle at 38.22 and Suse SA (ETR:SUSEG) which gained 2.03% to close at 19.14.

The worst performers were Morphosys AG O.N. (ETR:MORG) which was down 2.27% to 16.54 in late trade, Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which lost 2.24% to settle at 22.69 and Siltronic AG (ETR:WAFGn) which was down 1.05% to 65.70 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 353 to 313 and 95 ended unchanged.

Shares in Uniper SE (ETR:UN01) fell to all time lows; falling 5.70% or 0.29 to 4.73. Shares in Befesa SA (ETR:BFSA) fell to 52-week lows; losing 2.96% or 1.16 to 38.08. Shares in Morphosys AG O.N. (ETR:MORG) fell to 5-year lows; losing 2.27% or 0.38 to 16.54.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 1.92% to 28.11.

Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.64% or 10.95 to $1,711.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 0.20% or 0.17 to hit $86.70 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 3.21% or 3.07 to trade at $92.67 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.21% to 0.99, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.27% to 0.86.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.67% at 110.24.
