Germany stocks higher at close of trade; DAX up 0.81%

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX gained 0.81% to hit a new 1-month high, while the MDAX index gained 0.68%, and the TecDAX index climbed 0.72%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were HelloFresh SE (DE:HFGG), which rose 2.14% or 1.44 points to trade at 68.86 at the close. Meanwhile, RWE AG ST O.N. (DE:RWEG) added 1.75% or 0.610 points to end at 35.430 and Symrise AG Inh. O.N. (DE:SY1G) was up 1.68% or 2.150 points to 130.200 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Daimler AG NA O.N. (DE:DAIGn), which fell 0.41% or 0.290 points to trade at 69.600 at the close. Delivery Hero AG (DE:DHER) declined 0.19% or 0.19 points to end at 98.01 and Bayerische Motoren Werke AG (DE:BMWG) was down 0.06% or 0.050 points to 89.950.

The top performers on the MDAX were TeamViewer AG (DE:TMV) which rose 2.67% to 12.29, Stroeer SE (DE:SAXG) which was up 1.75% to settle at 69.950 and Commerzbank AG O.N. (DE:CBKG) which gained 1.52% to close at 6.832.

The worst performers were Duerr AG (DE:DUEG) which was down 0.88% to 40.320 in late trade, Varta AG (DE:VAR1) which lost 0.82% to settle at 114.250 and Hypoport AG (DE:HYQGn) which was down 0.69% to 503.000 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were TeamViewer AG (DE:TMV) which rose 2.67% to 12.29, Suse SA (DE:SUSEG) which was up 1.55% to settle at 39.20 and Deutsche Telekom AG Na (DE:DTEGn) which gained 1.46% to close at 16.486.

The worst performers were S&T AG (DE:SANT1) which was down 4.60% to 15.15 in late trade, Eckert & Ziegler AG O.N. (DE:EUZG) which lost 1.81% to settle at 95.150 and SMA Solar Technology AG (DE:S92G) which was down 1.24% to 38.260 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 433 to 261 and 62 ended unchanged.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 27.43% to 17.59.

Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.16% or 2.85 to $1811.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 0.45% or 0.34 to hit $75.91 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 0.49% or 0.38 to trade at $78.60 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 0.17% to 1.1306, while EUR/GBP fell 0.09% to 0.8417.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.08% at 96.162.
