Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Frankfurt, the gained 0.72%, while the index climbed 0.45%, and the index gained 0.41%.

The best performers of the session on the were Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (DE:), which rose 12.48% or 1.031 points to trade at 9.295 at the close. Meanwhile, RWE AG ST O.N. (DE:) added 2.22% or 0.700 points to end at 32.250 and E.ON SE NA (DE:) was up 1.97% or 0.208 points to 10.780 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Siemens AG Class N (DE:), which fell 4.43% or 5.04 points to trade at 108.68 at the close. Continental AG O.N. (DE:) declined 0.58% or 0.62 points to end at 106.42 and Heidelbergcement AG O.N. (DE:) was down 0.31% or 0.200 points to 64.400.

The top performers on the MDAX were Commerzbank AG O.N. (DE:) which rose 3.39% to 5.707, Morphosys AG O.N. (DE:) which was up 3.07% to settle at 117.600 and Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (DE:) which gained 2.70% to close at 11.225.

The worst performers were CompuGroup Medical AG O.N. (DE:) which was down 3.30% to 65.850 in late trade, TeamViewer AG (DE:) which lost 2.51% to settle at 31.90 and Metro Wholesale & Food Specialist AG (DE:) which was down 2.10% to 12.1350 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Morphosys AG O.N. (DE:) which rose 3.07% to 117.600, New Work SE (DE:) which was up 3.01% to settle at 308.00 and Aixtron SE (DE:) which gained 2.66% to close at 10.630.

The worst performers were CompuGroup Medical AG O.N. (DE:) which was down 3.30% to 65.850 in late trade, TeamViewer AG (DE:) which lost 2.51% to settle at 31.90 and Cancom SE O.N. (DE:) which was down 2.06% to 54.650 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 481 to 210 and 59 ended unchanged.

Shares in Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (DE:) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 12.48% or 1.031 to 9.295. Shares in RWE AG ST O.N. (DE:) rose to 5-year highs; gaining 2.22% or 0.700 to 32.250. Shares in E.ON SE NA (DE:) rose to 3-years highs; up 1.97% or 0.208 to 10.780. Shares in Metro Wholesale & Food Specialist AG (DE:) fell to 52-week lows; falling 2.10% or 0.2600 to 12.1350.

The , which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 2.80% to 13.90.

Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.39% or 6.15 to $1568.95 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 0.18% or 0.09 to hit $50.84 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 0.71% or 0.39 to trade at $54.89 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 0.21% to 1.0974, while EUR/GBP rose 0.33% to 0.8485.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.23% at 98.387.
