Germany stocks higher at close of trade; DAX up 0.67%

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX added 0.67%, while the MDAX index climbed 1.22%, and the TecDAX index climbed 1.11%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER), which rose 12.13% or 3.80 points to trade at 35.14 at the close. Meanwhile, Vonovia SE (ETR:VNAn) added 3.24% or 0.98 points to end at 31.26 and Zalando SE (ETR:ZALG) was up 3.21% or 0.80 points to 25.71 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Merck KGaA (ETR:MRCG), which fell 3.12% or 5.10 points to trade at 158.15 at the close. Hannover Rueck SE (ETR:HNRGn) declined 2.07% or 2.90 points to end at 137.40 and Brenntag AG (ETR:BNRGn) was down 1.86% or 1.28 points to 67.72.

The top performers on the MDAX were Aroundtown Property Holdings PLC (ETR:AT1) which rose 9.17% to 3.65, Deutsche Wohnen AG (ETR:DWNG) which was up 7.25% to settle at 22.35 and Grand City Properties SA (ETR:GYC) which gained 6.51% to close at 13.90.

The worst performers were Uniper SE (ETR:UN01) which was down 3.22% to 18.31 in late trade, Wacker Chemie O.N. (ETR:WCHG) which lost 2.91% to settle at 157.00 and Fuchs Petrolub AG VZO Pref (ETR:FPE3_p) which was down 2.81% to 24.86 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Morphosys AG O.N. (ETR:MORG) which rose 6.48% to 18.74, TeamViewer AG (ETR:TMV) which was up 5.58% to settle at 10.98 and Varta AG (ETR:VAR1) which gained 5.45% to close at 87.10.

The worst performers were Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which was down 1.85% to 9.25 in late trade, Nemetschek AG O.N. (ETR:NEKG) which lost 1.76% to settle at 54.62 and Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which was down 1.10% to 22.41 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 382 to 301 and 78 ended unchanged.

Shares in Nemetschek AG O.N. (ETR:NEKG) fell to 52-week lows; falling 1.76% or 0.98 to 54.62.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 5.32% to 29.57.

Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.39% or 7.25 to $1,842.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 6.69% or 7.87 to hit $109.72 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 5.58% or 6.69 to trade at $113.12 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 0.65% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.53% to 0.86.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 1.13% at 104.58.
