Germany stocks higher at close of trade; DAX up 0.65%

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX rose 0.65%, while the MDAX index climbed 0.60%, and the TecDAX index gained 1.79%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (DE:SATG_p), which rose 5.44% or 24.800 points to trade at 480.700 at the close. Meanwhile, HelloFresh SE (DE:HFGG) added 4.79% or 2.70 points to end at 59.12 and Siemens Healthineers AG (DE:SHLG) was up 4.04% or 2.40 points to 61.84 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Covestro AG (DE:1COV), which fell 1.85% or 1.000 points to trade at 53.000 at the close. Daimler AG NA O.N. (DE:DAIGn) declined 1.74% or 1.300 points to end at 73.200 and Continental AG O.N. (DE:CONG) was down 1.72% or 1.62 points to 92.40.

The top performers on the MDAX were TeamViewer AG (DE:TMV) which rose 5.27% to 14.38, Deutsche Lufthansa AG (DE:LHAG) which was up 4.00% to settle at 7.093 and Evotec AG O.N. (DE:EVTG) which gained 3.74% to close at 37.400.

The worst performers were Wacker Chemie O.N. (DE:WCHG) which was down 5.89% to 138.20 in late trade, Aurubis AG (DE:NAFG) which lost 1.62% to settle at 99.860 and Knorr-Bremse AG (DE:KBX) which was down 1.45% to 90.00 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (DE:SATG_p) which rose 5.44% to 480.700, TeamViewer AG (DE:TMV) which was up 5.27% to settle at 14.38 and Nordex SE O.N. (DE:NDXG) which gained 5.18% to close at 14.630.

The worst performers were Siltronic AG (DE:WAFGn) which was down 1.45% to 122.300 in late trade, Suse SA (DE:SUSEG) which lost 1.24% to settle at 31.80 and Telefonica Deutschland Holding AG (DE:O2Dn) which was down 1.12% to 2.560 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 442 to 243 and 91 ended unchanged.

Shares in Siltronic AG (DE:WAFGn) fell to 52-week lows; down 1.45% or 1.800 to 122.300.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 4.70% to 19.86.

Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.08% or 1.45 to $1841.75 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 0.03% or 0.03 to hit $85.83 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 0.19% or 0.17 to trade at $88.61 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 0.15% to 1.1324, while EUR/GBP fell 0.26% to 0.8311.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.14% at 95.630.
