Germany stocks higher at close of trade; DAX up 0.64%

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX added 0.64% to hit a new 1-month high, while the MDAX index added 1.44%, and the TecDAX index gained 0.43%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Zalando SE (ETR:ZALG), which rose 4.16% or 0.97 points to trade at 24.30 at the close. Meanwhile, Puma SE (ETR:PUMG) added 3.62% or 1.62 points to end at 46.43 and Airbus Group SE (ETR:AIRG) was up 2.65% or 2.90 points to 112.46 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p), which fell 3.67% or 13.10 points to trade at 344.00 at the close. Beiersdorf AG O.N. (ETR:BEIG) declined 1.83% or 1.78 points to end at 95.40 and Deutsche Boerse AG (ETR:DB1Gn) was down 1.58% or 2.60 points to 162.05.

The top performers on the MDAX were Varta AG (ETR:VAR1) which rose 8.21% to 29.40, HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG) which was up 7.50% to settle at 21.78 and Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER) which gained 7.47% to close at 35.84.

The worst performers were Vantage Towers AG (ETR:VTWRn) which was down 3.09% to 27.60 in late trade, Befesa SA (ETR:BFSA) which lost 2.79% to settle at 34.16 and Stroeer SE (ETR:SAXG) which was down 2.47% to 40.24 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Varta AG (ETR:VAR1) which rose 8.21% to 29.40, SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:S92G) which was up 3.18% to settle at 50.60 and Morphosys AG O.N. (ETR:MORG) which gained 2.95% to close at 19.72.

The worst performers were Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p) which was down 3.67% to 344.00 in late trade, Vantage Towers AG (ETR:VTWRn) which lost 3.09% to settle at 27.60 and Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which was down 2.03% to 9.27 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 463 to 221 and 70 ended unchanged.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 1.31% to 24.91.

Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.82% or 13.45 to $1,654.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 2.37% or 2.05 to hit $88.58 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 2.15% or 2.00 to trade at $94.81 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.01% to 0.99, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.05% to 0.86.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.06% at 111.36.
