Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Frankfurt, the rose 0.63%, while the index added 0.71%, and the index added 1.13%.

The best performers of the session on the were Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:), which rose 2.63% or 0.504 points to trade at 19.690 at the close. Meanwhile, RWE AG ST O.N. (DE:) added 1.78% or 0.470 points to end at 26.860 and MTU Aero Engines NA O.N. (DE:) was up 1.64% or 3.90 points to 241.20 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Deutsche Lufthansa AG (DE:), which fell 0.38% or 0.065 points to trade at 17.165 at the close. Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (DE:) declined 0.15% or 0.010 points to end at 6.673 and Deutsche Telekom AG Na (DE:) was down 0.13% or 0.020 points to 15.078.

The top performers on the MDAX were Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (DE:) which rose 3.80% to 188.700, Morphosys AG O.N. (DE:) which was up 3.24% to settle at 108.2000 and GEA Group AG (DE:) which gained 3.09% to close at 29.400.

The worst performers were Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (DE:) which was down 4.56% to 11.400 in late trade, Drillisch AG (DE:) which lost 2.22% to settle at 24.700 and Aurubis AG (DE:) which was down 2.11% to 45.000 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were SLM Solutions Group AG (DE:) which rose 4.01% to 15.56, Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (DE:) which was up 3.80% to settle at 188.700 and S&T AG (DE:) which gained 3.24% to close at 21.06.

The worst performers were Isra Vision O.N. (DE:) which was down 14.87% to 37.78 in late trade, Drillisch AG (DE:) which lost 2.22% to settle at 24.700 and Nemetschek AG O.N. (DE:) which was down 1.39% to 53.150 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 484 to 201 and 72 ended unchanged.

Shares in GEA Group AG (DE:) rose to 52-week highs; rising 3.09% or 0.880 to 29.400.

The , which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 4.15% to 14.09.

Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.52% or 7.65 to $1462.85 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 0.19% or 0.11 to hit $57.66 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 0.27% or 0.17 to trade at $62.20 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 0.13% to 1.1007, while EUR/GBP fell 0.59% to 0.8538.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.08% at 98.255.
