Germany stocks higher at close of trade; DAX up 0.55%

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX added 0.55% to hit a new 1-month high, while the MDAX index added 1.15%, and the TecDAX index gained 0.54%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Covestro AG (ETR:1COV), which rose 3.20% or 1.13 points to trade at 36.46 at the close. Meanwhile, Volkswagen AG VZO O.N. (ETR:VOWG_p) added 2.46% or 3.28 points to end at 136.36 and Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn) was up 2.17% or 0.56 points to 26.33 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Symrise AG Inh. O.N. (ETR:SY1G), which fell 2.54% or 2.56 points to trade at 98.34 at the close. Qiagen NV (ETR:QIA) declined 1.98% or 0.85 points to end at 42.02 and Vonovia SE (ETR:VNAn) was down 1.58% or 0.36 points to 22.36.

The top performers on the MDAX were CTS Eventim AG (ETR:EVDG) which rose 7.34% to 51.50, Prosiebensat 1 Media AG (ETR:PSMGn) which was up 6.88% to settle at 7.58 and Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (ETR:TKAG) which gained 5.70% to close at 5.04.

The worst performers were Nemetschek AG O.N. (ETR:NEKG) which was down 5.74% to 43.82 in late trade, Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which lost 1.64% to settle at 25.21 and TeamViewer AG (ETR:TMV) which was down 1.44% to 10.28 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Verbio Vereinigte Bioenergie AG (ETR:VBKG) which rose 4.69% to 82.55, SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:S92G) which was up 4.27% to settle at 53.75 and Morphosys AG O.N. (ETR:MORG) which gained 3.92% to close at 20.43.

The worst performers were Nemetschek AG O.N. (ETR:NEKG) which was down 5.74% to 43.82 in late trade, Suse SA (ETR:SUSEG) which lost 2.40% to settle at 17.07 and Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which was down 1.99% to 22.15 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 470 to 207 and 78 ended unchanged.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 0.09% to 23.22 a new 1-month low.

Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.19% or 3.15 to $1,679.75 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 0.36% or 0.33 to hit $92.28 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 0.31% or 0.31 to trade at $98.26 a barrel.

EUR/USD was up 0.61% to 1.00, while EUR/GBP fell 0.58% to 0.87.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.66% at 110.04.
