Germany stocks higher at close of trade; DAX up 0.50%

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX gained 0.50%, while the MDAX index added 0.32%, and the TecDAX index added 0.35%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Siemens Energy AG (ETR:ENR1n), which rose 3.32% or 0.72 points to trade at 22.38 at the close. Meanwhile, Rheinmetall AG (ETR:RHMG) added 2.89% or 7.50 points to end at 266.80 and Continental AG O.N. (ETR:CONG) was up 1.93% or 1.26 points to 66.48 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Bayerische Motoren Werke AG (ETR:BMWG), which fell 8.29% or 8.99 points to trade at 99.41 at the close. Heidelbergcement AG O.N. (ETR:HEIG) declined 2.42% or 1.68 points to end at 67.76 and Vonovia SE (ETR:VNAn) was down 2.25% or 0.42 points to 18.23.

The top performers on the MDAX were Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which rose 5.46% to 11.30, Talanx AG NA O.N. (ETR:TLXGn) which was up 4.48% to settle at 48.56 and Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which gained 3.62% to close at 32.06.

The worst performers were LEG Immobilien AG (ETR:LEGn) which was down 2.86% to 52.30 in late trade, Kion Group AG (ETR:KGX) which lost 2.41% to settle at 34.47 and SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:S92G) which was down 2.13% to 98.95 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which rose 5.46% to 11.30, Morphosys AG O.N. (ETR:MORG) which was up 3.67% to settle at 21.20 and Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which gained 3.62% to close at 32.06.

The worst performers were Suse SA (ETR:SUSEG) which was down 2.73% to 13.90 in late trade, SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:S92G) which lost 2.13% to settle at 98.95 and Bechtle AG (ETR:BC8G) which was down 1.54% to 38.46 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 401 to 261 and 86 ended unchanged.

Shares in Talanx AG NA O.N. (ETR:TLXGn) rose to all time highs; up 4.48% or 2.08 to 48.56.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 8.35% to 17.45.

Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.01% or 0.25 to $2,020.25 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 1.27% or 0.90 to hit $69.97 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 1.20% or 0.90 to trade at $74.08 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 0.56% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.10% to 0.87.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.60% at 102.49.
