Germany stocks higher at close of trade; DAX up 0.49%

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX gained 0.49%, while the MDAX index climbed 0.41%, and the TecDAX index climbed 0.54%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Vonovia SE (ETR:VNAn), which rose 3.89% or 0.77 points to trade at 20.68 at the close. Meanwhile, Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p) added 2.14% or 7.40 points to end at 353.80 and Brenntag AG (ETR:BNRGn) was up 2.02% or 1.38 points to 69.70 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Zalando SE (ETR:ZALG), which fell 4.31% or 1.30 points to trade at 28.84 at the close. Siemens Energy AG (ETR:ENR1n) declined 2.71% or 0.39 points to end at 13.99 and E.ON SE (ETR:EONGn) was down 1.53% or 0.17 points to 10.94.

The top performers on the MDAX were Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER) which rose 4.70% to 39.01, Prosiebensat 1 Media AG (ETR:PSMGn) which was up 3.38% to settle at 8.43 and Kion Group AG (ETR:KGX) which gained 3.07% to close at 37.91.

The worst performers were RTL Group SA (ETR:RRTL) which was down 3.59% to 37.02 in late trade, Sixt SE (ETR:SIXG) which lost 2.79% to settle at 104.60 and HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG) which was down 2.60% to 23.93 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Verbio Vereinigte Bioenergie AG (ETR:VBKG) which rose 2.68% to 43.70, ADTRAN Holdingsa Inc (ETR:QH9) which was up 2.47% to settle at 6.73 and Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p) which gained 2.14% to close at 353.80.

The worst performers were Kontron AG (ETR:KTN) which was down 2.62% to 19.35 in late trade, Jenoptik AG (ETR:JENGn) which lost 2.01% to settle at 28.32 and CompuGroup Medical AG O.N. (ETR:COP1n) which was down 2.01% to 44.82 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 342 to 295 and 103 ended unchanged.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 2.29% to 18.35.

Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.44% or 8.70 to $1,951.20 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.70% or 0.58 to hit $83.50 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 0.67% or 0.58 to trade at $86.75 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.32% to 1.10, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.40% to 0.86.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.14% at 102.20.
