Germany stocks higher at close of trade; DAX up 0.36%

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX added 0.36%, while the MDAX index added 0.24%, and the TecDAX index gained 0.03%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Dr Ing hc F Porsche AG Preferred (ETR:P911_p), which rose 3.46% or 3.24 points to trade at 96.88 at the close. Meanwhile, Siemens Energy AG (ETR:ENR1n) added 2.02% or 0.34 points to end at 16.91 and E.ON SE (ETR:EONGn) was up 1.77% or 0.16 points to 9.09 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Volkswagen AG VZO O.N. (ETR:VOWG_p), which fell 10.66% or 14.56 points to trade at 121.98 at the close. Deutsche Post AG NA O.N. (ETR:DPWGn) declined 3.32% or 1.20 points to end at 34.81 and Siemens Healthineers AG (ETR:SHLG) was down 1.58% or 0.76 points to 47.34.

The top performers on the MDAX were Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER) which rose 5.60% to 42.65, Freenet AG NA (ETR:FNTGn) which was up 5.10% to settle at 20.39 and Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (ETR:TKAG) which gained 4.82% to close at 5.83.

The worst performers were Rheinmetall AG (ETR:RHMG) which was down 7.77% to 185.75 in late trade, Scout24 AG (ETR:G24n) which lost 4.16% to settle at 47.50 and Siltronic AG (ETR:WAFGn) which was down 2.32% to 73.70 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Freenet AG NA (ETR:FNTGn) which rose 5.10% to 20.39, SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:S92G) which was up 4.37% to settle at 68.05 and Software AG (ETR:SOWGn) which gained 3.93% to close at 23.78.

The worst performers were Nagarro SE (ETR:NA9n) which was down 2.91% to 113.40 in late trade, Varta AG (ETR:VAR1) which lost 2.64% to settle at 22.85 and Siltronic AG (ETR:WAFGn) which was down 2.32% to 73.70 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 342 to 331 and 85 ended unchanged.

Shares in Scout24 AG (ETR:G24n) fell to 52-week lows; falling 4.16% or 2.06 to 47.50. Shares in Varta AG (ETR:VAR1) fell to 3-years lows; falling 2.64% or 0.62 to 22.85.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 4.72% to 20.77.

Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.09% or 1.55 to $1,798.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 1.99% or 1.48 to hit $75.94 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 1.48% or 1.17 to trade at $80.21 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.39% to 1.06, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.10% to 0.87.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.19% at 104.14.
