At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX added 0.23%, while the MDAX index climbed 0.05%, and the TecDAX index climbed 0.31%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were RWE AG ST O.N. (ETR:RWEG), which rose 5.25% or 1.84 points to trade at 36.92 at the close. Meanwhile, Zalando SE (ETR:ZALG) added 4.77% or 1.19 points to end at 26.15 and Airbus Group SE (ETR:AIRG) was up 3.00% or 2.77 points to 95.21 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn), which fell 3.46% or 0.80 points to trade at 22.29 at the close. Deutsche Boerse AG (ETR:DB1Gn) declined 3.23% or 5.15 points to end at 154.45 and Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (ETR:DBKGn) was down 3.19% or 0.26 points to 8.05.
The top performers on the MDAX were Uniper SE (ETR:UN01) which rose 10.30% to 15.63, Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER) which was up 6.82% to settle at 38.21 and Encavis AG (ETR:ECVG) which gained 4.72% to close at 18.30.
The worst performers were Gerresheimer AG (ETR:GXIG) which was down 6.53% to 57.95 in late trade, K&S AG (ETR:SDFGn) which lost 6.25% to settle at 21.74 and Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which was down 6.24% to 22.67 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which rose 3.74% to 23.86, Morphosys AG O.N. (ETR:MORG) which was up 3.30% to settle at 19.40 and Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p) which gained 2.94% to close at 343.20.
The worst performers were Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which was down 6.24% to 22.67 in late trade, Siltronic AG (ETR:WAFGn) which lost 4.44% to settle at 67.75 and Verbio Vereinigte Bioenergie AG (ETR:VBKG) which was down 3.54% to 46.30 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 392 to 295 and 77 ended unchanged.
Shares in Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn) fell to 52-week lows; falling 3.46% or 0.80 to 22.29. Shares in Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (ETR:DBKGn) fell to 52-week lows; losing 3.19% or 0.26 to 8.05. Shares in Siltronic AG (ETR:WAFGn) fell to 52-week lows; down 4.44% or 3.15 to 67.75.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 3.02% to 28.88.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.40% or 7.15 to $1,800.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 2.44% or 2.58 to hit $108.34 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 2.29% or 2.50 to trade at $111.53 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.81% to 1.04, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.30% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.67% at 105.16.
