Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Frankfurt, the gained 0.16%, while the index added 0.56%, and the index gained 0.19%.

The best performers of the session on the were Vonovia SE (DE:), which rose 1.49% or 0.76 points to trade at 51.78 at the close. Meanwhile, MTU Aero Engines NA O.N. (DE:) added 1.44% or 4.00 points to end at 281.90 and Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (DE:) was up 1.32% or 0.104 points to 7.974 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Adidas AG (DE:), which fell 1.87% or 5.65 points to trade at 296.30 at the close. Volkswagen AG VZO O.N. (DE:) declined 1.47% or 2.54 points to end at 169.92 and Continental AG O.N. (DE:) was down 1.00% or 1.04 points to 103.26.

The top performers on the MDAX were Siltronic AG (DE:) which rose 12.00% to 101.200, K+S AG NA O.N. (DE:) which was up 4.27% to settle at 8.788 and Siemens Healthineers AG (DE:) which gained 2.17% to close at 44.33.

The worst performers were Software AG (DE:) which was down 12.08% to 28.980 in late trade, Varta AG (DE:) which lost 2.13% to settle at 78.000 and CTS Eventim AG (DE:) which was down 1.89% to 56.950 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Siltronic AG (DE:) which rose 12.00% to 101.200, Aixtron SE (DE:) which was up 2.60% to settle at 9.934 and Drillisch AG (DE:) which gained 2.46% to close at 22.460.

The worst performers were Software AG (DE:) which was down 12.08% to 28.980 in late trade, Varta AG (DE:) which lost 2.13% to settle at 78.000 and CompuGroup Medical AG O.N. (DE:) which was down 1.38% to 60.650 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 378 to 281 and 88 ended unchanged.

Shares in Vonovia SE (DE:) rose to all time highs; up 1.49% or 0.76 to 51.78. Shares in Siltronic AG (DE:) rose to 52-week highs; up 12.00% or 10.840 to 101.200. Shares in Siltronic AG (DE:) rose to 52-week highs; up 12.00% or 10.840 to 101.200.

The , which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 4.26% to 15.05.

Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.00% or 0.05 to $1569.75 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 0.52% or 0.28 to hit $53.20 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 0.12% or 0.07 to trade at $58.74 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 0.15% to 1.1003, while EUR/GBP fell 0.01% to 0.8457.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.11% at 97.945.
