Germany stocks higher at close of trade; DAX up 0.15%

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX added 0.15%, while the MDAX index added 0.24%, and the TecDAX index climbed 0.72%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Vonovia SE (ETR:VNAn), which rose 2.33% or 0.46 points to trade at 20.23 at the close. Meanwhile, Symrise AG Inh. O.N. (ETR:SY1G) added 1.72% or 1.54 points to end at 90.88 and Merck KGaA (ETR:MRCG) was up 1.71% or 2.70 points to 160.60 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Adidas AG (ETR:ADSGN), which fell 3.30% or 6.08 points to trade at 177.92 at the close. Heidelbergcement AG O.N. (ETR:HEIG) declined 2.67% or 2.04 points to end at 74.30 and Commerzbank AG O.N. (ETR:CBKG) was down 1.96% or 0.20 points to 10.01.

The top performers on the MDAX were LEG Immobilien AG (ETR:LEGn) which rose 3.49% to 61.14, Tag Immobilien AG (ETR:TEGG) which was up 3.44% to settle at 9.97 and TeamViewer AG (ETR:TMV) which gained 2.87% to close at 17.40.

The worst performers were Puma SE (ETR:PUMG) which was down 3.75% to 60.14 in late trade, Vitesco Technologies Group AG (ETR:VTSCn) which lost 1.75% to settle at 72.95 and Stroeer SE (ETR:SAXG) which was down 1.74% to 42.86 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Verbio Vereinigte Bioenergie AG (ETR:VBKG) which rose 3.01% to 40.34, TeamViewer AG (ETR:TMV) which was up 2.87% to settle at 17.40 and Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which gained 2.25% to close at 29.96.

The worst performers were ADTRAN Holdingsa Inc (ETR:QH9) which was down 1.76% to 7.47 in late trade, Jenoptik AG (ETR:JENGn) which lost 1.25% to settle at 25.36 and United Internet AG NA (ETR:UTDI) which was down 0.77% to 16.84 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 342 to 296 and 99 ended unchanged.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 2.52% to 17.03.

Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.10% or 21.25 to $1,947.25 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 0.90% or 0.72 to hit $78.92 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.96% or 0.81 to trade at $83.22 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.15% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.23% to 0.85.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.17% at 103.30.
