At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX rose 0.14%, while the MDAX index gained 0.20%, and the TecDAX index added 1.55%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:IFXGn), which rose 2.18% or 0.808 points to trade at 37.898 at the close. Meanwhile, Deutsche Post AG NA O.N. (DE:DPWGn) added 2.11% or 1.225 points to end at 59.380 and RWE AG ST O.N. (DE:RWEG) was up 1.16% or 0.385 points to 33.445 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Delivery Hero AG (DE:DHER), which fell 1.74% or 2.25 points to trade at 126.75 at the close. Adidas AG (DE:ADSGN) declined 1.41% or 4.20 points to end at 293.23 and Merck KGaA (DE:MRCG) was down 1.35% or 2.72 points to 199.43.
The top performers on the MDAX were Evotec AG O.N. (DE:EVTG) which rose 3.62% to 44.970, Nordex SE O.N. (DE:NDXG) which was up 3.48% to settle at 15.470 and Siemens Healthineers AG (DE:SHLG) which gained 3.09% to close at 57.30.
The worst performers were Fuchs Petrolub AG VZO Pref (DE:FPEG_p) which was down 2.90% to 41.830 in late trade, AUTO1 Group SE (DE:AG1G) which lost 2.83% to settle at 31.93 and Knorr-Bremse AG (DE:KBX) which was down 2.41% to 103.40 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Evotec AG O.N. (DE:EVTG) which rose 3.62% to 44.970, Nordex SE O.N. (DE:NDXG) which was up 3.48% to settle at 15.470 and Siemens Healthineers AG (DE:SHLG) which gained 3.09% to close at 57.30.
The worst performers were Morphosys AG O.N. (DE:MORG) which was down 1.43% to 41.385 in late trade, Varta AG (DE:VAR1) which lost 0.87% to settle at 125.300 and Software AG (DE:SOWGn) which was down 0.74% to 41.460 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 406 to 287 and 76 ended unchanged.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 1.69% to 20.95.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.67% or 11.95 to $1806.35 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.34% or 0.24 to hit $70.69 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.39% or 0.29 to trade at $73.80 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.15% to 1.1825, while EUR/GBP rose 0.00% to 0.8535.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.19% at 92.475.
