Germany stocks higher at close of trade; DAX up 0.05%

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX rose 0.05%, while the MDAX index gained 0.45%, and the TecDAX index added 0.16%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Vonovia SE (ETR:VNAn), which rose 6.51% or 1.95 points to trade at 31.92 at the close. Meanwhile, SAP SE (ETR:SAPG) added 4.45% or 3.92 points to end at 92.06 and Zalando SE (ETR:ZALG) was up 4.24% or 1.21 points to 29.76 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Deutsche Telekom AG Na (ETR:DTEGn), which fell 3.04% or 0.57 points to trade at 18.16 at the close. Deutsche Boerse AG (ETR:DB1Gn) declined 2.39% or 3.95 points to end at 161.15 and Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (ETR:DBKGn) was down 2.34% or 0.20 points to 8.26.

The top performers on the MDAX were LEG Immobilien AG (ETR:LEGn) which rose 6.21% to 87.18, Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER) which was up 5.59% to settle at 43.66 and Tag Immobilien AG (ETR:TEGG) which gained 4.72% to close at 10.20.

The worst performers were Uniper SE (ETR:UN01) which was down 28.90% to 7.46 in late trade, Commerzbank AG O.N. (ETR:CBKG) which lost 4.69% to settle at 6.34 and Telefonica Deutschland Holding AG (ETR:O2Dn) which was down 3.37% to 2.66 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Nagarro SE (ETR:NA9n) which rose 5.09% to 115.60, SAP SE (ETR:SAPG) which was up 4.45% to settle at 92.06 and Nemetschek AG O.N. (ETR:NEKG) which gained 3.10% to close at 61.20.

The worst performers were Telefonica Deutschland Holding AG (ETR:O2Dn) which was down 3.37% to 2.66 in late trade, Morphosys AG O.N. (ETR:MORG) which lost 3.10% to settle at 21.58 and Deutsche Telekom AG Na (ETR:DTEGn) which was down 3.04% to 18.16 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 373 to 296 and 96 ended unchanged.

Shares in Uniper SE (ETR:UN01) fell to all time lows; falling 28.90% or 3.04 to 7.46.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 7.15% to 25.98 a new 1-month low.

Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.78% or 13.45 to $1,726.85 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.38% or 0.37 to hit $95.98 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.37% or 0.38 to trade at $104.24 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.00% to 1.02, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.13% to 0.85.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.47% at 106.30.
