France stocks mixed at close of trade; CAC 40 down 0.69%

At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 declined 0.69%, while the SBF 120 index added 0.08%.

The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Sanofi SA (EPA:SASY), which rose 1.28% or 1.21 points to trade at 95.48 at the close. Meanwhile, Thales (EPA:TCFP) added 0.88% or 1.20 points to end at 137.40 and Veolia Environnement VE SA (EPA:VIE) was up 0.58% or 0.16 points to 27.79 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were BNP Paribas SA (EPA:BNPP), which fell 3.01% or 1.79 points to trade at 57.76 at the close. Worldline SA (EPA:WLN) declined 2.57% or 0.86 points to end at 32.61 and Credit Agricole SA (EPA:CAGR) was down 2.46% or 0.29 points to 11.51.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were Casino Guichard Perrachon SA (EPA:CASP) which rose 5.98% to 2.55, Ipsen SA (EPA:IPN) which was up 4.24% to settle at 120.60 and Voltalia SA (EPA:VLTSA) which gained 3.47% to close at 16.10.

The worst performers were Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which was down 3.85% to 7.33 in late trade, SES Imagotag (EPA:SESL) which lost 3.53% to settle at 114.80 and BNP Paribas SA (EPA:BNPP) which was down 3.01% to 57.76 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 306 to 198 and 111 ended unchanged.

Shares in Ipsen SA (EPA:IPN) rose to 3-years highs; gaining 4.24% or 4.90 to 120.60.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.

Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.52% or 10.15 to $1,959.85 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.24% or 0.20 to hit $82.14 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 0.19% or 0.16 to trade at $85.50 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 0.50% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.09% to 0.86.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.56% at 102.43.
