France stocks lower at close of trade; CAC 40 down 1.12%

At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 lost 1.12%, while the SBF 120 index declined 0.97%.

The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Worldline SA (PA:WLN), which rose 3.77% or 1.78 points to trade at 49.12 at the close. Meanwhile, Carrefour SA (PA:CARR) added 2.23% or 0.34 points to end at 15.59 and Airbus Group SE (PA:AIR) was up 1.70% or 1.74 points to 104.14 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Hermes International SCA (PA:HRMS), which fell 6.01% or 97.50 points to trade at 1525.00 at the close. TotalEnergies SE (PA:TTEF) declined 2.27% or 1.01 points to end at 43.66 and Societe Generale SA (PA:SOGN) was down 2.25% or 0.66 points to 28.67.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were Rubis SCA (PA:RUBF) which rose 4.74% to 25.87, Ubisoft Entertainment (PA:UBIP) which was up 4.58% to settle at 42.23 and Worldline SA (PA:WLN) which gained 3.77% to close at 49.12.

The worst performers were Ipsen SA (PA:IPN) which was down 8.05% to 85.86 in late trade, Hermes International SCA (PA:HRMS) which lost 6.01% to settle at 1525.00 and Biomerieux SA (PA:BIOX) which was down 3.44% to 122.10 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 363 to 242 and 102 ended unchanged.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0% to 18.96 a new 52-week low.

Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.41% or 7.45 to $1805.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 1.91% or 1.38 to hit $71.00 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 1.95% or 1.46 to trade at $73.56 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 0.53% to 1.1268, while EUR/GBP fell 0.06% to 0.8497.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.42% at 96.420.
