France stocks lower at close of trade; CAC 40 down 1.08%

At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 lost 1.08% to hit a new 1-month low, while the SBF 120 index declined 1.10%.

The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were BNP Paribas SA (EPA:BNPP), which rose 1.68% or 0.87 points to trade at 52.54 at the close. Meanwhile, Societe Generale SA (EPA:SOGN) added 1.27% or 0.28 points to end at 22.41 and Credit Agricole SA (EPA:CAGR) was up 0.41% or 0.04 points to 9.38 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW), which fell 4.74% or 2.46 points to trade at 49.42 at the close. Eurofins Scientific SE (EPA:EUFI) declined 3.54% or 2.30 points to end at 62.74 and Capgemini SE (EPA:CAPP) was down 3.45% or 5.70 points to 159.45.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were Elior Group (EPA:ELIOR) which rose 5.82% to 3.45, Vallourec (EPA:VLLP) which was up 3.02% to settle at 11.07 and Coface (EPA:COFA) which gained 1.73% to close at 11.78.

The worst performers were Covivio SA (EPA:CVO) which was down 5.22% to 54.45 in late trade, Antin Infrastructure Partners SASU (EPA:ANTIN) which lost 5.16% to settle at 20.22 and WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW) which was down 4.74% to 49.42 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 345 to 191 and 94 ended unchanged.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.

Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.56% or 10.05 to $1,797.85 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 2.60% or 1.98 to hit $74.13 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 2.96% or 2.40 to trade at $78.81 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.20% to 1.06, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.19% to 0.87.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.07% at 104.27.
