France stocks lower at close of trade; CAC 40 down 1.07%

At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 declined 1.07%, while the SBF 120 index unchanged 0%.

The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Sanofi SA (PA:SASY), which rose 1.74% or 1.43 points to trade at 83.70 at the close. Meanwhile, STMicroelectronics NV (PA:STM) added 1.58% or 0.48 points to end at 30.88 and Atos SE (PA:ATOS) was up 1.24% or 0.80 points to 65.16 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Airbus Group SE (PA:AIR), which fell 3.72% or 3.76 points to trade at 97.34 at the close. Stellantis NV (PA:STLA) declined 3.57% or 0.55 points to end at 14.85 and Safran SA (PA:SAF) was down 3.48% or 4.30 points to 119.25.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were Biomerieux SA (PA:BIOX) which rose 4.56% to 112.30, Gecina SA (PA:GFCP) which was up 3.29% to settle at 122.40 and Maisons du Monde SAS (PA:MDM) which gained 3.24% to close at 18.46.

The worst performers were Technip Energies BV (PA:TE) which was down 5.00% to 12.92 in late trade, Virbac SA (PA:VIRB) which lost 4.93% to settle at 212.00 and Valeo SA (PA:VLOF) which was down 3.83% to 30.62 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 385 to 199 and 77 ended unchanged.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0% to 18.96 a new 3-months low.

Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.55% or 9.50 to $1742.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 2.47% or 1.48 to hit $61.48 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 2.05% or 1.30 to trade at $64.58 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 0.08% to 1.1905, while EUR/GBP rose 0.36% to 0.8588.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.09% at 91.957.
