France stocks lower at close of trade; CAC 40 down 0.82%

At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 fell 0.82%, while the SBF 120 index lost 0.85%.

The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Veolia Environnement VE SA (PA:VIE), which rose 1.89% or 0.42 points to trade at 22.70 at the close. Meanwhile, Total SA (PA:TOTF) added 1.02% or 0.41 points to end at 40.98 and Danone SA (PA:DANO) was up 0.96% or 0.54 points to 56.68 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Airbus Group SE (PA:AIR), which fell 4.87% or 4.88 points to trade at 95.42 at the close. Thales (PA:TCFP) declined 4.22% or 3.50 points to end at 79.48 and STMicroelectronics NV (PA:STM) was down 2.84% or 0.83 points to 28.42.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were Technip Energies BV (PA:TE) which rose 5.67% to 11.65, CGG SA (PA:GEPH) which was up 3.86% to settle at 1.117 and Rubis SCA (PA:RUBF) which gained 2.42% to close at 39.78.

The worst performers were Air France KLM SA (PA:AIRF) which was down 6.13% to 5.18 in late trade, Neoen SA (PA:NEOEN) which lost 5.92% to settle at 44.50 and Airbus Group SE (PA:AIR) which was down 4.87% to 95.42 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 385 to 188 and 96 ended unchanged.

Shares in Total SA (PA:TOTF) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 1.02% or 0.41 to 40.98.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0% to 18.96 a new 1-month low.

Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.01% or 0.20 to $1700.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 3.38% or 2.16 to hit $65.99 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 3.66% or 2.44 to trade at $69.18 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 0.45% to 1.1912, while EUR/GBP rose 0.09% to 0.8617.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.40% at 92.007.
