France stocks lower at close of trade; CAC 40 down 0.81%

At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 lost 0.81%, while the SBF 120 index declined 0.83%.

The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Compagnie Generale des Etablissements Michelin SCA (EPA:MICP), which rose 1.11% or 0.28 points to trade at 25.55 at the close. Meanwhile, Dassault Systemes SE (EPA:DAST) added 1.05% or 0.35 points to end at 33.70 and Carrefour SA (EPA:CARR) was up 1.02% or 0.17 points to 16.36 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Capgemini SE (EPA:CAPP), which fell 3.31% or 5.55 points to trade at 161.90 at the close. L’Oreal SA (EPA:OREP) declined 3.01% or 9.55 points to end at 307.95 and LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE (EPA:LVMH) was down 2.17% or 14.10 points to 636.70.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were Technip Energies BV (EPA:TE) which rose 2.00% to 13.54, La Francaise Des Jeux Sa (EPA:FDJ) which was up 1.64% to settle at 34.02 and Biomerieux SA (EPA:BIOX) which gained 1.37% to close at 90.52.

The worst performers were Elior Group (EPA:ELIOR) which was down 11.61% to 2.13 in late trade, Nexans SA (EPA:NEXS) which lost 10.37% to settle at 85.15 and Orpea SA (EPA:ORP) which was down 9.61% to 8.31 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 340 to 203 and 83 ended unchanged.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.

Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.19% or 3.10 to $1,652.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 1.53% or 1.35 to hit $89.72 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 1.33% or 1.26 to trade at $95.91 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.06% to 0.99, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.20% to 0.86.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.05% at 111.31.
