France stocks lower at close of trade; CAC 40 down 0.57%

At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 declined 0.57%, while the SBF 120 index declined 0.25%.

The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Legrand SA (PA:LEGD), which rose 3.39% or 2.28 points to trade at 69.46 at the close. Meanwhile, Alstom SA (PA:ALSO) added 3.27% or 1.27 points to end at 40.08 and Worldline SA (PA:WLN) was up 3.18% or 2.18 points to 70.80 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Veolia Environnement VE SA (PA:VIE), which fell 3.07% or 0.53 points to trade at 16.71 at the close. Renault SA (PA:RENA) declined 2.99% or 0.70 points to end at 22.75 and Publicis Groupe SA (PA:PUBP) was down 2.55% or 0.82 points to 31.33.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were Elior Group (PA:ELIOR) which rose 8.59% to 3.59, Rubis SCA (PA:RUBF) which was up 6.18% to settle at 31.26 and SCOR SE (PA:SCOR) which gained 5.51% to close at 24.12.

The worst performers were Natixis (PA:CNAT) which was down 8.62% to 2.02 in late trade, Genfit (PA:GNFT) which lost 5.69% to settle at 3.35 and Nexans SA (PA:NEXS) which was down 4.58% to 42.46 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 316 to 240 and 93 ended unchanged.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was down 2.25% to 24.63.

Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.12% or 2.25 to $1949.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 3.33% or 1.29 to hit $37.50 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 2.88% or 1.18 to trade at $39.75 a barrel.

EUR/USD was up 0.42% to 1.1871, while EUR/GBP rose 0.38% to 0.9031.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.22% at 92.308.
