France stocks lower at close of trade; CAC 40 down 0.55%

At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 declined 0.55%, while the SBF 120 index declined 0.58%.

The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Renault SA (EPA:RENA), which rose 2.18% or 0.77 points to trade at 36.37 at the close. Meanwhile, Worldline SA (EPA:WLN) added 1.96% or 0.77 points to end at 40.12 and Thales (EPA:TCFP) was up 0.87% or 1.00 points to 115.60 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Eurofins Scientific SE (EPA:EUFI), which fell 3.64% or 2.52 points to trade at 66.62 at the close. WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW) declined 2.69% or 1.46 points to end at 52.88 and Compagnie de Saint Gobain SA (EPA:SGOB) was down 2.40% or 1.27 points to 51.72.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were Orpea SA (EPA:ORP) which rose 7.35% to 7.57, SES Imagotag (EPA:SESL) which was up 3.83% to settle at 119.20 and Accor SA (EPA:ACCP) which gained 2.48% to close at 26.42.

The worst performers were Solutions 30 SE (EPA:S30) which was down 5.26% to 2.04 in late trade, Imerys SA (EPA:IMTP) which lost 5.16% to settle at 37.16 and Ubisoft Entertainment (EPA:UBIP) which was down 4.49% to 23.81 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 312 to 242 and 82 ended unchanged.

Shares in Ubisoft Entertainment (EPA:UBIP) fell to 5-year lows; down 4.49% or 1.12 to 23.81.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.

Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.04% or 0.70 to $1,878.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 1.02% or 0.76 to hit $75.39 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 0.80% or 0.64 to trade at $80.29 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.05% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.36% to 0.88.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.31% at 103.06.
