France stocks lower at close of trade; CAC 40 down 0.38%

At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 declined 0.38% to hit a new 1-month low, while the SBF 120 index fell 0.12%.

The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Capgemini SE (EPA:CAPP), which rose 1.36% or 2.15 points to trade at 160.25 at the close. Meanwhile, Publicis Groupe SA (EPA:PUBP) added 1.11% or 0.78 points to end at 71.00 and Engie SA (EPA:ENGIE) was up 0.70% or 0.10 points to 14.59 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield SE (EPA:URW), which fell 2.16% or 1.04 points to trade at 47.20 at the close. ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) declined 1.62% or 0.39 points to end at 23.70 and Eurofins Scientific SE (EPA:EUFI) was down 1.57% or 0.86 points to 53.94.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which rose 2.77% to 6.89, Casino Guichard Perrachon SA (EPA:CASP) which was up 2.02% to settle at 3.14 and Bollore SA (EPA:BOLL) which gained 1.71% to close at 5.34.

The worst performers were CGG SA (EPA:GEPH) which was down 3.71% to 0.76 in late trade, SES Imagotag (EPA:SESL) which lost 3.43% to settle at 107.00 and Sartorius Stedim Biotech SA (EPA:STDM) which was down 3.06% to 247.50 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 330 to 186 and 100 ended unchanged.

Shares in Eurofins Scientific SE (EPA:EUFI) fell to 3-years lows; down 1.57% or 0.86 to 53.94.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.

Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.18% or 3.45 to $1,918.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 1.26% or 1.01 to hit $81.40 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 0.90% or 0.76 to trade at $84.88 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.02% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.01% to 0.85.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.20% at 103.27.
