France stocks lower at close of trade; CAC 40 down 0.27%

At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 declined 0.27% to hit a new 52-week low, while the SBF 120 index declined 0.24%.

The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Renault SA (EPA:RENA), which rose 2.62% or 0.74 points to trade at 28.77 at the close. Meanwhile, TotalEnergies SE (EPA:TTEF) added 2.07% or 0.98 points to end at 48.00 and Compagnie Generale des Etablissements Michelin SCA (EPA:MICP) was up 1.92% or 0.44 points to 23.57 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW), which fell 3.46% or 1.51 points to trade at 42.28 at the close. Kering SA (EPA:PRTP) declined 2.95% or 13.95 points to end at 459.10 and Veolia Environnement VE SA (EPA:VIE) was down 2.55% or 0.51 points to 19.52.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were BIC (EPA:BICP) which rose 6.07% to 63.80, Mcphy Energy (EPA:MCPHY) which was up 6.05% to settle at 8.24 and Ovh Groupe SAS (EPA:OVH) which gained 4.98% to close at 11.71.

The worst performers were Metropole Television SA (EPA:MMTP) which was down 5.43% to 13.05 in late trade, Dassault Aviation SA (EPA:AM) which lost 3.90% to settle at 120.60 and WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW) which was down 3.46% to 42.28 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 274 to 253 and 96 ended unchanged.

Shares in BIC (EPA:BICP) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 6.07% or 3.65 to 63.80. Shares in WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW) fell to 52-week lows; down 3.46% or 1.51 to 42.28.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.

Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.21% or 3.45 to $1,636.85 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 1.54% or 1.18 to hit $77.89 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 1.70% or 1.41 to trade at $84.27 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.26% to 0.96, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.14% to 0.90.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.25% at 114.31.
