France stocks lower at close of trade; CAC 40 down 0.17%

At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 declined 0.17%, while the SBF 120 index lost 0.12%.

The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF), which rose 3.30% or 7.30 points to trade at 228.50 at the close. Meanwhile, Compagnie de Saint Gobain SA (EPA:SGOB) added 1.56% or 0.70 points to end at 45.69 and EssilorLuxottica SA (EPA:ESLX) was up 1.43% or 2.55 points to 180.55 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Worldline SA (EPA:WLN), which fell 2.31% or 1.05 points to trade at 44.47 at the close. Stellantis NV (EPA:STLA) declined 2.05% or 0.31 points to end at 14.60 and Sanofi SA (EPA:SASY) was down 1.92% or 1.68 points to 85.77.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were Orpea SA (EPA:ORP) which rose 7.62% to 7.20, Trigano SA (EPA:TRIA) which was up 4.33% to settle at 127.60 and Ovh Groupe SAS (EPA:OVH) which gained 4.12% to close at 14.04.

The worst performers were Antin Infrastructure Partners SASU (EPA:ANTIN) which was down 2.85% to 22.48 in late trade, Mcphy Energy (EPA:MCPHY) which lost 2.74% to settle at 13.68 and SES (EPA:SESFd) which was down 2.59% to 6.61 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 279 to 268 and 82 ended unchanged.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.

Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.33% or 6.05 to $1,809.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 1.02% or 0.83 to hit $80.39 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 1.17% or 1.02 to trade at $85.86 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.04% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.23% to 0.86.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.08% at 104.61.
