France stocks lower at close of trade; CAC 40 down 0.14%

At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 declined 0.14%, while the SBF 120 index lost 0.21%.

The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Bouygues SA (EPA:BOUY), which rose 1.76% or 0.51 points to trade at 29.56 at the close. Meanwhile, Carrefour SA (EPA:CARR) added 1.50% or 0.25 points to end at 16.87 and Thales (EPA:TCFP) was up 1.31% or 1.60 points to 123.30 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Eurofins Scientific SE (EPA:EUFI), which fell 3.19% or 2.16 points to trade at 65.54 at the close. Dassault Systemes SE (EPA:DAST) declined 2.31% or 0.83 points to end at 35.08 and Worldline SA (EPA:WLN) was down 2.16% or 0.94 points to 42.63.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were ALD SA (EPA:ALDA) which rose 4.21% to 10.90, SCOR SE (EPA:SCOR) which was up 2.95% to settle at 19.69 and Derichebourg (EPA:DBG) which gained 2.22% to close at 5.30.

The worst performers were Quadient SA (EPA:QDT) which was down 17.91% to 12.01 in late trade, Aeroports de Paris SA (EPA:ADP) which lost 12.60% to settle at 129.05 and Orpea SA (EPA:ORP) which was down 5.56% to 6.96 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 323 to 223 and 93 ended unchanged.

Shares in Quadient SA (EPA:QDT) fell to 52-week lows; losing 17.91% or 2.62 to 12.01.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.

Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.14% or 2.55 to $1,783.85 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 3.60% or 2.77 to hit $74.16 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 3.77% or 3.12 to trade at $79.56 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.09% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.04% to 0.86.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.13% at 105.38.
