France stocks higher at close of trade; CAC 40 up 2.08%

At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 added 2.08% to hit a new 52-week high, while the SBF 120 index climbed 2.00%.

The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW), which rose 8.32% or 5.42 points to trade at 70.58 at the close. Meanwhile, Stellantis NV (PA:STLA) added 5.80% or 0.79 points to end at 14.47 and Safran SA (PA:SAF) was up 5.42% or 6.45 points to 125.55 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Pernod Ricard SA (PA:PERP), which fell 0.82% or 1.30 points to trade at 157.10 at the close. Dassault Systemes SE (PA:DAST) declined 0.59% or 1.00 points to end at 167.65 and Total SA (PA:TOTF) was down 0.13% or 0.06 points to 40.92.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW) which rose 8.32% to 70.58, Klepierre SA (PA:LOIM) which was up 7.60% to settle at 21.80 and Stellantis NV (PA:STLA) which gained 5.80% to close at 14.47.

The worst performers were Ipsen SA (PA:IPN) which was down 5.21% to 66.35 in late trade, Euronext (PA:ENX) which lost 3.13% to settle at 80.40 and Devoteam SA (PA:DVTM) which was down 2.69% to 101.20 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 408 to 188 and 84 ended unchanged.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0% to 18.96 a new 1-month low.

Gold Futures for April delivery was down 1.26% or 21.45 to $1677.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 2.25% or 1.49 to hit $64.60 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 2.19% or 1.52 to trade at $67.84 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 0.53% to 1.1853, while EUR/GBP fell 0.48% to 0.8569.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.40% at 92.360.
