France stocks higher at close of trade; CAC 40 up 1.44%

At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 1.44% to hit a new 6-months high, while the SBF 120 index added 1.53%.

The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW), which rose 17.12% or 7.32 points to trade at 50.08 at the close. Meanwhile, BNP Paribas SA (PA:BNPP) added 7.24% or 2.84 points to end at 42.05 and Renault SA (PA:RENA) was up 6.60% or 1.73 points to 27.86 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were STMicroelectronics NV (PA:STM), which fell 5.65% or 1.72 points to trade at 28.73 at the close. Worldline SA (PA:WLN) declined 3.93% or 3.02 points to end at 73.76 and Dassault Systemes SE (PA:DAST) was down 2.84% or 4.35 points to 149.00.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW) which rose 17.12% to 50.08, Klepierre SA (PA:LOIM) which was up 16.03% to settle at 17.41 and ICADE (PA:ICAD) which gained 13.98% to close at 63.60.

The worst performers were Sartorius Stedim Biotech SA (PA:STDM) which was down 6.43% to 299.60 in late trade, STMicroelectronics NV (PA:STM) which lost 5.65% to settle at 28.73 and Trigano SA (PA:TRIA) which was down 5.55% to 110.60 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 384 to 210 and 74 ended unchanged.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was up 16.88% to 25.96.

Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.44% or 26.75 to $1881.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.99% or 0.40 to hit $40.69 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 0.94% or 0.40 to trade at $42.80 a barrel.

EUR/USD was up 0.05% to 1.1819, while EUR/GBP fell 0.56% to 0.8921.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.01% at 92.705.
