France stocks higher at close of trade; CAC 40 up 1.38%

At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 1.38%, while the SBF 120 index added 1.41%.

The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Worldline SA (PA:WLN), which rose 4.74% or 2.17 points to trade at 48.02 at the close. Meanwhile, Airbus Group SE (PA:AIR) added 4.64% or 4.74 points to end at 106.80 and Vivendi SA (PA:VIV) was up 4.49% or 0.51 points to 11.74 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Eurofins Scientific SE (PA:EUFI), which fell 0.95% or 1.04 points to trade at 108.20 at the close. Dassault Systemes SE (PA:DAST) declined 0.62% or 0.32 points to end at 51.44 and Hermes International SCA (PA:HRMS) was down 0.45% or 7.00 points to 1536.50.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were Bollore SA (PA:BOLL) which rose 11.54% to 4.83, TechnipFMC PLC (PA:FTI) which was up 5.61% to settle at 5.31 and Worldline SA (PA:WLN) which gained 4.74% to close at 48.02.

The worst performers were Valneva (PA:VLS) which was down 4.22% to 24.520 in late trade, Sartorius Stedim Biotech SA (PA:STDM) which lost 1.59% to settle at 453.20 and Eurofins Scientific SE (PA:EUFI) which was down 0.95% to 108.20 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 400 to 192 and 93 ended unchanged.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0% to 18.96 a new 52-week low.

Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.40% or 7.10 to $1787.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 4.04% or 2.77 to hit $71.38 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 3.59% or 2.57 to trade at $74.09 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 0.06% to 1.1268, while EUR/GBP fell 0.37% to 0.8504.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.03% at 96.578.
