France stocks higher at close of trade; CAC 40 up 0.97%

At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 0.97%, while the SBF 120 index climbed 0.98%.

The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Eurofins Scientific SE (EPA:EUFI), which rose 3.09% or 2.06 points to trade at 68.64 at the close. Meanwhile, Dassault Systemes SE (EPA:DAST) added 2.22% or 0.74 points to end at 34.04 and STMicroelectronics NV (EPA:STM) was up 2.13% or 0.70 points to 33.51 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were TotalEnergies SE (EPA:TTEF), which rose 0.02% or 0.01 points to trade at 59.38 at the close. Safran SA (EPA:SAF) added 0.03% or 0.04 points to end at 118.02 and AXA SA (EPA:AXAF) was up 0.19% or 0.05 points to 26.40.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were Mcphy Energy (EPA:MCPHY) which rose 6.27% to 12.71, Solutions 30 SE (EPA:S30) which was up 6.08% to settle at 1.72 and Korian Medica SA (EPA:KORI) which gained 5.24% to close at 9.95.

The worst performers were Aeroports de Paris SA (EPA:ADP) which was down 0.59% to 126.25 in late trade, Accor SA (EPA:ACCP) which lost 0.42% to settle at 23.72 and Inter Parfums Inc. (EPA:IPAR) which was down 0.35% to 56.20 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 364 to 165 and 96 ended unchanged.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.

Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.56% or 10.10 to $1,825.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 1.65% or 1.30 to hit $77.66 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 1.61% or 1.35 to trade at $82.64 a barrel.

EUR/USD was up 0.70% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.28% to 0.89.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.56% at 103.60.
