Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Paris, the rose 0.85%, while the index added 0.90%.

The best performers of the session on the were Credit Agricole SA (PA:), which rose 3.82% or 0.48 points to trade at 13.04 at the close. Meanwhile, STMicroelectronics NV (PA:) added 2.62% or 0.70 points to end at 27.37 and Societe Generale SA (PA:) was up 2.21% or 0.66 points to 30.29 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Airbus Group SE (PA:), which fell 0.81% or 1.12 points to trade at 136.88 at the close. Engie SA (PA:) declined 0.70% or 0.11 points to end at 15.54 and Pernod Ricard SA (PA:) was down 0.63% or 1.00 points to 158.30.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were Aperam SA (AS:) which rose 9.00% to 29.43, Europcar Groupe SA (PA:) which was up 5.91% to settle at 4.16 and Worldline SA (PA:) which gained 5.58% to close at 67.15.

The worst performers were Quadient SA (PA:) which was down 4.00% to 22.56 in late trade, Eutelsat Communications SA (PA:) which lost 2.03% to settle at 13.54 and Metropole Television SA (PA:) which was down 1.32% to 14.90 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 318 to 263 and 68 ended unchanged.

The , which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was down 5.66% to 13.74.

Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.40% or 6.15 to $1561.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 4.09% or 2.03 to hit $51.64 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 3.87% or 2.09 to trade at $56.05 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 0.37% to 1.1001, while EUR/GBP fell 0.17% to 0.8459.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.29% at 98.090.
