France stocks higher at close of trade; CAC 40 up 0.48%

At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 added 0.48% to hit a new 1-month low, while the SBF 120 index gained 0.59%.

The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Societe Generale SA (PA:SOGN), which rose 6.71% or 0.76 points to trade at 12.15 at the close. Meanwhile, Credit Agricole SA (PA:CAGR) added 5.23% or 0.39 points to end at 7.77 and BNP Paribas SA (PA:BNPP) was up 5.02% or 1.58 points to 33.03 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Dassault Systemes SE (PA:DAST), which fell 2.59% or 4.15 points to trade at 156.25 at the close. Sanofi SA (PA:SASY) declined 1.91% or 1.65 points to end at 84.87 and Capgemini SE (PA:CAPP) was down 1.24% or 1.35 points to 107.50.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were Elior Group (PA:ELIOR) which rose 13.64% to 4.00, Accor SA (PA:ACCP) which was up 6.82% to settle at 25.21 and Elis Services SA (PA:ELIS) which gained 6.75% to close at 11.54.

The worst performers were Sartorius Stedim Biotech SA (PA:STDM) which was down 4.67% to 294.20 in late trade, Dassault Systemes SE (PA:DAST) which lost 2.59% to settle at 156.25 and Ipsen SA (PA:IPN) which was down 2.55% to 86.10 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 353 to 215 and 88 ended unchanged.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was down 8.78% to 23.00.

Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.60% or 11.45 to $1908.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 2.88% or 1.13 to hit $40.35 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 2.40% or 0.99 to trade at $42.28 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 0.01% to 1.1780, while EUR/GBP rose 0.21% to 0.9094.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.01% at 93.537.
