France stocks higher at close of trade; CAC 40 up 0.35%

At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 added 0.35%, while the SBF 120 index added 0.41%.

The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Thales (PA:TCFP), which rose 4.34% or 2.86 points to trade at 68.82 at the close. Meanwhile, STMicroelectronics NV (PA:STM) added 3.90% or 0.99 points to end at 26.36 and Airbus Group SE (PA:AIR) was up 3.63% or 2.50 points to 71.32 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Total SA (PA:TOTF), which fell 1.51% or 0.49 points to trade at 32.02 at the close. EssilorLuxottica SA (PA:ESLX) declined 0.94% or 1.05 points to end at 110.50 and Air Liquide SA (PA:AIRP) was down 0.63% or 0.90 points to 141.10.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were Dassault Aviation SA (PA:AVMD) which rose 9.13% to 818.50, Soitec SA (PA:SOIT) which was up 6.06% to settle at 124.30 and Valeo SA (PA:VLOF) which gained 4.99% to close at 29.87.

The worst performers were Akka Technologies (PA:AKA) which was down 4.49% to 17.00 in late trade, Vallourec (PA:VLLP) which lost 3.39% to settle at 18.316 and Euronext (PA:ENX) which was down 2.46% to 99.20 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 331 to 241 and 80 ended unchanged.

Shares in Soitec SA (PA:SOIT) rose to 5-year highs; up 6.06% or 7.10 to 124.30. Shares in Vallourec (PA:VLLP) fell to 5-year lows; falling 3.39% or 0.642 to 18.316.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was down 3.93% to 22.40.

Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.93% or 18.05 to $1965.95 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 0.27% or 0.10 to hit $37.23 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.40% or 0.16 to trade at $39.67 a barrel.

EUR/USD was up 0.18% to 1.1866, while EUR/GBP fell 0.39% to 0.9222.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.33% at 93.032.
