France stocks higher at close of trade; CAC 40 up 0.25%

At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 0.25%, while the SBF 120 index gained 0.27%.

The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Stellantis NV (EPA:STLAM), which rose 3.59% or 0.58 points to trade at 16.80 at the close. Meanwhile, WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW) added 3.33% or 1.90 points to end at 59.00 and AXA SA (EPA:AXAF) was up 3.24% or 0.90 points to 28.71 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were EssilorLuxottica SA (EPA:ESLX), which fell 4.24% or 7.40 points to trade at 167.15 at the close. Danone SA (EPA:DANO) declined 1.39% or 0.76 points to end at 53.90 and Eurofins Scientific SE (EPA:EUFI) was down 1.37% or 0.94 points to 67.66.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were Sopra Steria Group SA (EPA:SOPR) which rose 7.66% to 174.20, Fnac Darty SA (EPA:FNAC) which was up 7.65% to settle at 38.56 and Air France KLM SA (EPA:AIRF) which gained 5.25% to close at 1.78.

The worst performers were Nexity (EPA:NEXI) which was down 9.06% to 24.10 in late trade, Orpea SA (EPA:ORP) which lost 5.54% to settle at 2.59 and EssilorLuxottica SA (EPA:ESLX) which was down 4.24% to 167.15 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 301 to 234 and 89 ended unchanged.

Shares in Sopra Steria Group SA (EPA:SOPR) rose to 52-week highs; up 7.66% or 12.40 to 174.20.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.

Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.71% or 13.15 to $1,828.35 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 2.06% or 1.52 to hit $75.47 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 1.95% or 1.57 to trade at $82.17 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.14% to 1.06, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.27% to 0.88.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.13% at 104.66.
