Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Paris, the added 0.18%, while the index gained 0.14%.

The best performers of the session on the were Sanofi SA (PA:), which rose 5.86% or 4.80 points to trade at 86.66 at the close. Meanwhile, EssilorLuxottica SA (PA:) added 1.27% or 1.75 points to end at 139.05 and STMicroelectronics NV (PA:) was up 1.25% or 0.290 points to 23.400 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:), which fell 1.84% or 0.296 points to trade at 15.826 at the close. Dassault Systemes SE (PA:) declined 1.82% or 2.65 points to end at 142.70 and Renault SA (PA:) was down 1.45% or 0.60 points to 41.26.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were Sanofi SA (PA:) which rose 5.86% to 86.66, Vallourec (PA:) which was up 3.42% to settle at 2.482 and Tarkett (PA:) which gained 2.91% to close at 13.45.

The worst performers were Valeo SA (PA:) which was down 7.41% to 33.01 in late trade, Trigano SA (PA:) which lost 3.27% to settle at 91.75 and Aperam SA (AS:) which was down 2.90% to 27.84 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 281 to 276 and 108 ended unchanged.

Shares in Sanofi SA (PA:) rose to 52-week highs; rising 5.86% or 4.80 to 86.66. Shares in STMicroelectronics NV (PA:) rose to 5-year highs; gaining 1.25% or 0.290 to 23.400. Shares in Renault SA (PA:) fell to 5-year lows; losing 1.45% or 0.60 to 41.26. Shares in Sanofi SA (PA:) rose to 52-week highs; up 5.86% or 4.80 to 86.66.

The , which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was up 0.17% to 14.60.

Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.17% or 2.45 to $1467.35 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.37% or 0.22 to hit $59.24 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 0.17% or 0.11 to trade at $64.36 a barrel.

EUR/USD was up 0.23% to 1.1087, while EUR/GBP fell 0.05% to 0.8409.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.14% at 97.470.
