France stocks higher at close of trade; CAC 40 up 0.03%

At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 0.03%, while the SBF 120 index gained 0.10%.

The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Capgemini SE (PA:CAPP), which rose 3.54% or 4.10 points to trade at 120.05 at the close. Meanwhile, Kering SA (PA:PRTP) added 2.84% or 15.80 points to end at 572.10 and WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW) was up 2.71% or 1.70 points to 64.40 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Orange SA (PA:ORAN), which fell 2.37% or 0.23 points to trade at 9.63 at the close. L’Oreal SA (PA:OREP) declined 1.52% or 4.70 points to end at 304.70 and STMicroelectronics NV (PA:STM) was down 0.97% or 0.29 points to 29.67.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were Solutions 30 SE (PA:S30) which rose 11.29% to 10.45, Genfit (PA:GNFT) which was up 4.55% to settle at 4.14 and Korian Medica SA (PA:KORI) which gained 4.17% to close at 31.00.

The worst performers were Elior Group (PA:ELIOR) which was down 3.52% to 5.34 in late trade, Orange SA (PA:ORAN) which lost 2.37% to settle at 9.63 and Air France KLM SA (PA:AIRF) which was down 2.36% to 4.81 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 313 to 265 and 86 ended unchanged.

Shares in Capgemini SE (PA:CAPP) rose to 5-year highs; up 3.54% or 4.10 to 120.05.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was down 1.43% to 20.53.

Gold Futures for February delivery was up 1.65% or 30.75 to $1889.85 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.86% or 0.41 to hit $48.23 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 0.61% or 0.31 to trade at $51.39 a barrel.

EUR/USD was up 0.50% to 1.2257, while EUR/GBP fell 0.23% to 0.9006.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.71% at 89.720.
