Denmark stocks lower at close of trade; OMX Copenhagen 20 down 4.97%

At the close in Copenhagen, the OMX Copenhagen 20 declined 4.97% to hit a new 1-month low.

The best performers of the session on the OMX Copenhagen 20 were Genmab (CSE:GMAB), which rose 2.87% or 71.0 points to trade at 2541.0 at the close. Meanwhile, AP Moeller – Maersk A/S A (CSE:MAERSKa) added 1.98% or 400 points to end at 20640 and AP Moeller – Maersk A/S B (CSE:MAERSKb) was up 1.92% or 420 points to 22310 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Novo Nordisk A/S Class B (CSE:NOVOb), which fell 11.73% or 89.7 points to trade at 675.2 at the close. GN Store Nord (CSE:GN) declined 4.22% or 16.9 points to end at 383.3 and Vestas Wind Systems A/S (CSE:VWS) was down 2.09% or 4.1 points to 190.2.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Copenhagen Stock Exchange by 125 to 33 and 15 ended unchanged.

Shares in AP Moeller – Maersk A/S B (CSE:MAERSKb) rose to 5-year highs; rising 1.92% or 420 to 22310. Shares in Vestas Wind Systems A/S (CSE:VWS) fell to 52-week lows; falling 2.09% or 4.1 to 190.2.

Crude oil for January delivery was down 6.07% or 4.30 to $66.56 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in February fell 5.14% or 3.78 to hit $69.74 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.60% or 10.75 to trade at $1794.15 a troy ounce.

USD/DKK was down 0.50% to 6.5840, while EUR/DKK rose 0.00% to 7.4361.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.16% at 96.395.
