Denmark stocks higher at close of trade; OMX Copenhagen 20 up 1.20%

At the close in Copenhagen, the OMX Copenhagen 20 rose 1.20% to hit a new 1-month high.

The best performers of the session on the OMX Copenhagen 20 were Novo Nordisk A/S Class B (CSE:NOVOb), which rose 2.76% or 23.10 points to trade at 860.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Genmab (CSE:GMAB) added 1.96% or 50.00 points to end at 2,598.00 and AP Moeller – Maersk A/S A (CSE:MAERSKa) was up 1.33% or 240.00 points to 18,350.00 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Vestas Wind Systems A/S (CSE:VWS), which fell 5.34% or 9.10 points to trade at 161.30 at the close. Netcompany Group (CSE:NETCG) declined 4.61% or 17.40 points to end at 360.00 and Pandora A/S (CSE:PNDORA) was down 4.48% or 22.80 points to 485.80.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Copenhagen Stock Exchange by 82 to 65 and 22 ended unchanged.

Shares in Novo Nordisk A/S Class B (CSE:NOVOb) rose to 5-year highs; up 2.76% or 23.10 to 860.00.

Crude oil for September delivery was down 0.66% or 0.64 to $96.06 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 0.10% or 0.10 to hit $100.29 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.17% or 2.85 to trade at $1,716.25 a troy ounce.

USD/DKK was up 0.95% to 7.35, while EUR/DKK unchanged 0.01% to 7.44.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.63% at 107.02.
