Couchbase shares gain 3% on Q4 beat

Couchbase Inc (NASDAQ:BASE) shares rose more than 3% after-hours following the company’s reported Q4 results, with EPS of ($0.18) coming in better than the consensus estimate of ($0.34).

Revenue grew 19% year-over-year to $41.6 million, beating the consensus estimate of $38.25M. Subscription revenue was $38.1M, up 16% year-over-year. Total annual recurring revenue (ARR) as of January 31, 2023 was $163.7M, representing an increase of 23% year-over-year.

“This is a direct result of great execution across the company, which we are particularly pleased with despite this more challenging macro environment. As we begin fiscal 2024, we remain sharply focused on delivering top-line growth, increasing Capella adoption, driving further sales and marketing efficiency and improving profitability,” said Matt Cain, CEO of Couchbase.

The company expects Q1/24 revenue in the range of $39.5-40.1M, compared to the consensus of $40.63M. Total ARR is seen at $169.2-172.2M.

For the full year, the company expects revenue in the range of $171.7-174.7M, compared to the consensus estimate of $176.59M. Total ARR is seen at $190.0-194.0M.
