Breaking: Boeing Halts 737 Max Jet Production – Report

Investing.com – Boeing (NYSE:) will halt production of its currently grounded 737 Max jetliner for January, the Wall Street Journal reported Monday, citing a person briefed on the matter.

  • The aerospace giant had continued to assemble about 40 of the jets per month while waiting for regulatory approval for the jets to fly again. It now has a backlog of about 400 planes.
  • The jets were grounded after two fatal crashed in five months. Approval is not expected until February, the Journal reported.
  • Shares of Boeing (NYSE:) fell 1% in after-hours trading. The stock was off more then 4% during the regular session on anticipation of this move, weighing on the .
